& How I Preserve Them Forever

It's the Little things...
When I walk into a wedding day, the first thing I look for isn’t the big scene—the grand ballroom, the aisle lined with flowers, or the arch where you’ll say “I do.”
I start with the little things.
The lace your grandmother wore on her wedding day, carefully stitched into the hem of your gown. The small, worn Bible your mom carried when she married your dad. The perfume bottle you chose because you want the scent to always take you back to this day. The cufflinks your best friend gave you when you got engaged.
These are the details I photograph before anything else, because they’re the ones that make your wedding day uniquely yours.
How the Small Things Tell the Bigger Story
Over the years, I’ve realized something: when you look back at your wedding gallery 20 or 30 years from now, it’s often these quiet, overlooked details that stir the deepest emotions.
Yes, you’ll love seeing your first kiss and your first dance. But when you see your handwritten vows lying beside your bouquet, or the invitation you spent hours designing, you’ll remember the feeling of that exact moment in a way that’s almost impossible to describe.
These pieces are the thread that ties your whole wedding story together—whether you celebrated in a ballroom at The Farnam in Omaha, a rustic barn outside Lincoln, or a vineyard tucked into the Nebraska countryside.

How I Prepare Your Details for Photos
On the morning of your wedding, I always set aside a few quiet moments to photograph your details with intention. That’s why I encourage my couples to:

Gather them ahead of time
The night before, place your heirlooms, accessories, stationery, and any meaningful keepsakes together in one box or tray. That way, I can get right to work capturing them while you relax and enjoy your morning.
Include things that tell your story
Maybe it’s the necklace your partner gave you on your first anniversary, the tie pin your grandfather wore, or the pressed flowers from the proposal spot. These personal touches make your photos timeless.

This is a great place for you to tell your clients more about your story and to describe the type of photographer you are. You can come back at any time to make more changes.
Don’t forget handwritten notes
Your vows, letters, or even a love note you exchange before the ceremony photograph beautifully—and they carry so much emotion.
Why This Part of the Day Matters So Much
Photographing details isn’t just about pretty images—it’s about honoring the pieces of your wedding that will eventually become family heirlooms themselves.
Years from now, your daughter might hold the same bouquet charm you carried. Your grandchildren might wear your wedding band. And because these items are photographed, you’ll be able to show them exactly how they looked on your day—not just describe them from memory.
When you choose a photographer who values storytelling, you’re choosing someone who understands that your day isn’t made up of just the “big” moments—it’s the quiet, intimate ones that give your story depth.
Your Wedding, Preserved Forever
When I deliver your final wedding gallery, I don’t just want you to see your day—I want you to feel it again. I want you to remember the way your dress felt in your hands, the scent of your flowers, the weight of your partner’s hand as you slipped the ring on.
Because your wedding is more than an event—it’s a chapter in your family’s story. And every chapter deserves to be remembered in full, from the grand celebrations to the smallest treasures.
Whether you’re getting married in Omaha, Lincoln, or anywhere in Nebraska, I’ll be there to capture every detail—big and small—so you can relive your day for the rest of your life.
